Over 2's Room
Our over-twos room is a warm, welcoming and stimulating space where children are encouraged to explore, make choices and develop their independence through play. The room is thoughtfully arranged with accessible resources, including small-world toys, vehicles, construction materials, creative equipment and imaginative-play opportunities. Activities are adapted to reflect the children’s interests, individual needs and stages of development. Children are supported across all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Practitioners encourage communication and language through stories, songs, conversations and play, while personal, social and     emotional development is promoted as children build relationships, learn to share and become more confident. Physical development is supported through active play, fine-motor activities and opportunities to practice self-care skills.
Children begin developing early literacy and mathematical skills through books, mark-making, counting, sorting, shapes and everyday problem-solving. They explore understanding the world through small-world play, nature, different occupations, communities and hands-on experiences. Expressive arts and design is encouraged through painting, drawing, music, movement, construction and  imaginative play. Our caring practitioners observe each child carefully and use their interests to plan meaningful experiences, helping every child feel happy, valued and ready for their next stage of learning.
