Funded Childcare for Eligible 2-Year-Olds

We offer funded childcare places for some  2-year-olds, depending on family circumstances. If your child is eligible, they may be able to receive 15 hours of funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year.

How to Apply

Parents can apply online through the Best Start in Life / government childcare portal.

As part of the application, you may be asked to provide information such as your National Insurance number, proof of identity and your child’s birth certificate.

If your application is successful, you will receive an eligibility code. Please provide this code to your nursery manager, and we will validate it with the local authority for you.

Further information is available on the government’s Best Start in Life – Childcare & Early Years Education website.

Who May Be Eligible?

Your child may be able to receive funded childcare if one or more of the following applies:

Your family receives certain government benefits

Your child receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Your child has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Your child is subject to a kinship or guardianship order

Your child is looked after by a local authority.

Stretched Funding

We understand that many families need childcare all year round, not just during term time. At Little Rainbows Childcare, we offer parents the option to stretch funded hours across 52 weeks of the year, instead of using them over the standard 38 weeks.

This means your funded hours are spread out more evenly across the year, giving you more consistent childcare and greater flexibility for your family.
