The Curiosty Approach
At Little Rainbows, we adopt elements of The Curiosity Approach by creating a calm, homely and inspiring environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate and learn through real-life experiences.
Rather than using lots of bright plastic toys or overly structured activities, we provide natural, open-ended and meaningful resources that allow children to use their imagination, make choices and lead their own play. This may include loose parts, wooden resources, natural materials, real-life objects, role-play items and sensory experiences.
Our aim is to create an environment that feels warm, welcoming and respectful of the child. We carefully consider how each area of the nursery is set up so that children feel curious, independent and confident to explore at their own pace.
Staff support children by observing their interests, asking open-ended questions and extending their learning through meaningful conversations and experiences. This helps children develop important skills such as communication, problem-solving, creativity, independence and confidence.
We also believe that children learn best when they feel safe, loved and valued. By adopting The Curiosity Approach, we encourage children to slow down, explore the world around them, take appropriate risks, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
About Little Rainbows Childcare
Our childcare setting promotes a nurturing space for children aged 0-5.
We believe in supporting early development through using the Early Years Foundation Stage as a guidance to ensure children can meet their developmental goals for their age.
Children will learn through play.
We will provide an environment that is reassuring and safe for the children. Our staff are trained educators that are able work effectively with children and their families.
